Northtown's Detectable Underground Warning Tape consists of a 5mil overall thickness, with a .35mil solid aluminum foil core. The construction is a .8 mil clear film, reverse printed with a repeating warning message and laminated to foil core with a 3.75mil clear film backing. The lettering on all tapes is a minimum of 1" unless otherwise specified. All detectable warning tape is APWA color coded and permanently printed. Detectable tape is used for accurately locating and preventing damage to valuable underground utility installations. Its aluminum core makes underground assets easy to find using a non-ferrous locator. Properly installed, this tape helps avoid catastrophically inaccurate digging when locating utilities such as electrical lines, gas pipes and communication cables.
